In 2002, Chris founded SPR Atlanta, a public relations and digital agency that served professional service firms, launched The Atlanta 100 and was acquired in November 2017 by The Wilbert Group. He began his publishing career at six Southeastern daily newspapers, serving as advertising director, creative director, promotions director, editor and reporter – winning awards for both his reporting and print advertisement design. He established his own chain of Atlanta neighborhood newspapers in 1994, selling them to real estate developer Tom Cousins in 2002. The newspapers publish now under the name of Atlanta INtown.
A fifth-generation Atlantan, Chris is a graduate of Westminster and the University of Virginia and the creator of the weekly video interview series, Moments on SaportaReport.com, where he was a founding publisher of the journalistic platform. He serves on various nonprofit boards and advisory committees when he’s not riding his bike, attending music festivals, traveling with his wife Jan or visiting with friends, family, children, and granddaughter.
