The 100 Companies launches The East Bay 100

The 100 Companies welcomes first governmental member to publishing network

With today’s launch of The East Bay 100, The 100 Companies welcomes its first governmental member – The City of Pittsburg, California. The new digital venture is managed by Pittsburg’s Economic Development Department, with the goal of providing readers with a quick, yet thorough view into the area, located along the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta at the foot of Mount Diablo in east Contra Costa County.

This morning, 30,000 business leaders and influencers living in and around Alameda and Contra Costa counties received the inaugural issue, which focused on economic development opportunities shaping the region with 100-word articles and videos. In future monthly issues, The East Bay 100 will cover topics spanning from history, restaurants and culture to business news, real estate and local nonprofits.

“The City of Pittsburg is our first governmental member,” said Chris Schroder, founder and president of The 100 Companies. “We were launched as a network of public relations firms covering geographic areas and then expanded to vertical markets such as Travel, Association and Engineering. Working with Pittsburg, we now realize our platform is perfect to expand into other areas. When you boil it down, we help communicators deliver significant information to key stakeholders. Thanks to Pittsburg, we now have a model for many more potential categories.”
