Atlanta Beltline launching $3M pilot program for driverless shuttles

by The 100 Companies

The Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority approved a new pilot program to bring driverless shuttles to parts of the Beltline in southwest Atlanta. The program will last for 12 months and is expected to begin early next year.

The $3 million project will deploy four autonomous Beep vehicles along a nearly two-mile route. The shuttles will connect the Atlanta University Center, MARTA’s West End station and the Beltline’s Lee + White district. With a passenger capacity of 10 and onsite attendants, the service aims to enhance connectivity, gather rider feedback and boost economic impact ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
