FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Today 100 launches as a daily, women-owned 100-word newsletter
ATLANTA, GA – [Oct. 9, 2025] – The Today 100, a new daily newsletter offering quick, curated reads, officially launched in September. Designed for busy readers who want to stay informed in minutes, The Today 100 delivers bite-sized insights across history, culture, business, food and lifestyle – all connected to each day.
Since its Labor Day debut, the newsletter has achieved a consistent 45% open rate, with readership reaching nearly 100,000 daily readers.
The Today 100 is published by The 100 Companies, now led by co-owners Sally Schroder and Kate McCabe-LeFever, making it one of the nation’s only women-owned newsletter networks with both national and local editions.
The 100 Companies is best known for its pioneering format: every story told in exactly 100 words. The network reaches approximately 1.5 million subscribers through its 25 city and state newsletters and more than 300 websites nationwide, including The Travel 100, which delivers to 250,000 readers monthly.
Founded by Chris Schroder with the launch of The Atlanta 100 in October 2013, The 100 Companies was acquired in September 2025 by longtime colleagues Sally Schroder and Kate McCabe-LeFever, who now serve as operating owners.
“We’re thrilled to launch The Today 100 and expand the reach of The 100 Companies,” said Kate McCabe-LeFever, co-owner and head of editorial. “As women leaders in media, we’re proud to carry Chris’ vision forward while bringing a fresh perspective.”
“Every 100-word story is designed to respect our readers’ time while keeping them connected,” added Sally Schroder, co-owner and chief strategy officer. “The Today 100 reflects that mission on a national scale.”
