On Friday, Sept. 19, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana will proudly host its 2025 Excelencia Gala, honoring outstanding individuals and organizations for their achievements, leadership, inspiration and meaningful contributions to the community.
Held in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and the Independence of Central America, the Excelencia Gala pays tribute to generations of Hispanic Americans whose influence continues to enrich our society and strengthen our economy.
We are thrilled to announce the 2025 Excelencia Award Honorees:
• Pan American Life Insurance Group – Corporate Partner
• Julio Melara, Melara Enterprises – Small Business of the Year
• Jones Walker – President’s Choice Award
• New Orleans Jazz Museum – Community Leader
• Julissa Olivares – Young Professional of the Year
This year’s gala will be held at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans and will feature an exclusive Patron Reception sponsored by Chef Edgar Caro and Brasa Steakhouse as well as a Dinner Dance and Silent Auction, with live entertainment by Ashe Son, performing a vibrant mix of Latin and American music. The anticipated sit-down dinner will be specially curated by Chef Kalych Padro.
The Excelencia Gala is critical to funding the Chamber’s programs and services. Proceeds support initiatives that promote equity, inclusion and economic empowerment within the Hispanic community. These include:
• Entrepreneurship and procurement seminars
• Digital and financial literacy training
• Workforce development and job placement services
• Bilingual training through our Workforce Training & Business Development Center
